Conference Venue

The ICTPC’13 will be held at the Egas Moniz building from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL). The building is within the campus of the Hospital de Santa Maria (HSM).

The Conference Venue is located almost in the city center and is easy to get to, with the historic center, the shopping areas and the many city museums and parks just a few minutes away by Metro (subway).

By Metro (subway)

The Egas Moniz Building is just 5 minutes on foot from the metro station Cidade Universitária.

There are regular buses that stop near the Hospital de Santa Maria campus.

By Car

We highly recommend that participants travel to the conference site using public transportation - car parking space is very limited and charges apply.

By Taxi

They are much cheaper than in most other European cities - usually between 5 and 10€ for any ride within the city (a little more expensive after 22h00, on weekends and public holidays). All have meters (make sure they are switched on), and tips are not expected.
They line up in many central areas, including Hospital de Santa Maria campus.

Public transportation (general information)

Most forms of public transport operate from around 6h30 to midnight (the metro until 1h00).
In every metro station there are automatic machines where you can buy:

  • 1 day ticket Carris/Metro | 6 € | valid for 24 hours, after validation, in the Metro and Carris whole networks
  • Viva Viagem Card | 0,50 € | which is rechargeable with Carris/Metro single tickets (1,40€)
  • If you staying for a few more days can also choose:

  • Lisboa Card is a card which, in general terms, allows free and unlimited travel on Carris buses, trams and funiculars, underground, as well as on CP train lines Rossio»Sintra»Rossio and Cais do Sodré»Cascais»Cais do Sodré and free admission on 25 museums, historic buildings and many other places of interest.
    The Lisboa Card is available at Turismo de Lisboa booths, located at Lisbon Airport - Arrival Hall, Palácio Foz (Praça dos Restauradores), Lisboa Welcome Center (Praça do comércio), Stª Apolónia International Railway Station or at Rua Augusta and Belém Kiosks.
